Descriptive Text

Definition        : Descriptive text is a text type that is widely used in everyday life to describe objects, places, people, animals, etc.

Generic structure   :

-Identification : is part of Descriptive Text about the topic will be depicted or described.

-Description      : is the last part of the Descriptive Text that contains discussion or depiction of the topic in the Identification.

Specific text  :

- Descriptive Text using the Present Tense.

- Descriptive Text also uses Adverbs.

Purpose   :

Descriptive Text purpose is to describe and reveal the characteristics of objects, places, or things in general certain.

Example   :

Sherina Munaf

Her name is Sherina Munaf. She is an actress and singer from the city of Bandung. He was born on 11 June 1990 in the city of Bandung. Sherina Munaf is the daughter of Triawan Munaf and Luki Ariani.

Sherina Munaf has an oval face. Her hair is straight. The color is brown. She has a smooth skin and brown color typical of Indonesia. Sherina Munaf is a spirit and energetic. she started career from the age of 9 years. her hobby is painting.

Recount Text

Definition        : Recount Text is one of the type of English text which retells events or experiences in the past.

Generic structure   :

- Orientation : or introduction that provides information about the event that occurred in the past.

- Event : are recorded events, which are usually presented in chronological order.

- Reorientation : a cover that encapsulates repeating sequence of events, events or activities that are reported.

Specific text  :

-Using the Past Tense.

-Using Action Verbs.

Purpose   :

to report the incident, event or activity with the aim to preach or entertain course without any conflict in the story.

Example   :

My Holiday

Last week I went to jakarta. I stayed at my brother's house in Depok, West Java. The house has a large garden with colorful flowers and a small pool.

In the morning, my brother and I saw a rainbow. The scenery was very beautiful. We climbed to the top floor. It was scary, but it was fun. Then, we went to get a closer look. We took pictures of beautiful scanery there. After that, we rested and had lunch in the dining room. Before I went home, we went to the zoo in ragunan. I went home in the afternoon.

I'm very tired. However, I think it's really nice to have a holiday like this. I hope my next vacation will be more interesting.

Narative Text

Definition        : Narrative Text is a text which was where serves to tell the story past and for entertainment.

Generic structure   :

- Orientation : or the introduction of contains about introduction of the dignitaries in the story as well as time and where it happened.

-Complication : contains about an overview the emergence of problem which in a natural by prominent on such stories which must be solved.

-Resolution : contains about how the a figure from such stories solve the problem which exist on the part Complication.

Specific text  :

-Using the Action Verb in the Past Tense.

-Using specific nouns.

Purpose   :

to entertain listeners or readers on a story or stories relating to the past experience of the real.

Example   :

MEANING OF A FRIEND

Riri has four female friends is Lisa, Citra, Dian, and Irma. Their friendship began when Mr Gunawan giving math problems to work in groups. At that Riri a group with his friends. Since then, they always spend time together.

Irma invite classmates to attend her birthday. Riri and Irma also invited to attend the party. But because Riri shame, then do not come to the event Riri friend.

After Riri not come at a birthday party Irma, Riri remain always strange reason, whenever there is a birthday party invitation remains as it always does come with an assortment of reasons.

This month birthday Riri, Riri unbeknownst to his friend suddenly came to the house Riri with a big birthday cake and singing "Happy Birthday". And after that Riri realized that the friend was present in good times and bad, and that presence is more important than gifts.

Letter

Definition        : Letter is a written message especially sent by post in an envelope.

Generic structure   :

• your addres                  • closing
• date                              • closed greeting

• open greeting               • signature

• conten                           • sender's name

Specific text  :

• are written, neat, sender and send.

Purpose   :

used to convey thoughts or to request permission to someone.

Definition        : Invitations is to invited someone to come to the program such as, birthday party, meeting and many more.

Generic structure   :

• greeting: opening words.

• purpose: the purpose of the invitation.

• Date: when the program will be held.

• Time: the time the program will be held.

• Place: where the sender name of the program.

• closing: the last word / cover.

• sender: the sender's name.

Specific text  :

• Used future tense.

• usually in card invitation.

Purpose   :

is to tell someone to be present or to come.

Definition        : Announcement is to tell people about something important.

Generic structure   :

Specific text  :

it tells what will happen in near time and it also describe What Will happen.

Purpose   :

to tell everyone about the information.

Example   :

Kartini Day

all students are expected to follow the race SMP 12 Tangerang for flower arranging and make rice cone on:

Brochure

Definition        : brochure is a promotional tool made of paper in which there is some informations and offers about products or services.

Generic structure   :

-    Title: the name of products or service offered in brochure.

-    Contain: the information given about the products or service offered in brochure.

-    Contact person: name, address, or phone number person to find out more information about something that’s offered in brochure.

Specific text  :

brochure usually succinct in languange and eye-catching in design, and usually using a headlines.
